Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Real Estate Acquisitions Analyst to join a national team in a fully remote capacity. You will source opportunities, build financial models, and support due diligence and deal execution across market segments from anywhere in South Africa.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in real estate acquisitions or corporate finance, with advanced Excel modeling (DCF, IRR, ROI, NPV) and strong communication skills for remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics or related quantitative field.
• MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• 3–5 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, investment analysis, or corporate finance.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and rapidly expanding real estate investment firm, is actively seeking a highly analytical and driven Remote Real Estate Acquisitions Analyst to join their national team. This position is integral to identifying, evaluating, and recommending potential real estate investment opportunities across various market segments. The analyst will be responsible for conducting in-depth market research, financial modeling, due diligence, and supporting deal execution from a fully remote capacity. Key Responsibilities

• Identify and source potential real estate investment opportunities through market research, broker relationships, and proprietary databases.
• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including discounted cash flow (DCF) modeling, pro forma underwriting, and sensitivity analysis for potential acquisitions.
• Perform detailed due diligence, including market studies, tenant analysis, property inspections (virtually or arranged locally), and review of legal and title documents.
• Prepare detailed investment memos and presentations for the investment committee, recommending acquisitions and outlining risks and returns.
• Monitor existing portfolio performance and market trends to identify opportunities for repositioning or disposition.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams (legal, finance, asset management) and external partners (brokers, lawyers, appraisers) in a remote setting.
• Stay abreast of economic conditions, real estate market trends, and competitive activities impacting investment strategies.
• Assist in the negotiation and closing process for acquired properties.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, investment analysis, or corporate finance, preferably within the real estate sector.
• Strong financial modeling skills using Excel, including DCF, IRR, ROI, and NPV analysis.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in real estate market research tools and databases.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly in a remote context.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
• Experience working in a remote environment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of South African real estate markets is beneficial but not mandatory.
