Job summary

Appsierra Group is seeking a Mid-Level Laravel Engineer in Johannesburg to build reliable backend systems and ship scalable features. You will work across the development lifecycle on PHP/Laravel-based applications, APIs, and data-driven solutions while collaborating with product, design, QA, and DevOps teams.

You will contribute to code quality, participate in reviews, and help mentor junior developers in a hands-on, hybrid environment with office days as required.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience with PHP and Laravel.
• Experience building and integrating APIs.
• Solid understanding of backend web application development.
• Experience with databases and relational data structures.
• Experience developing and shipping production software.
• Understanding of full-stack development and frontend/backend integration.
• Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and development pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve web applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs and integrations.
• Collaborate with frontend and other teams to support system integration.
• Contribute to code quality through reviews and best practices.
• Participate in CI/CD and deployment processes.
