Job summary

Brokstock SA (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Middle Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to manually test web applications, mobile apps and APIs from a remote setting. You will create and maintain test docs, track defects, and collaborate with developers to improve the product.

The role also involves writing automated tests for Web, API and Mobile platforms with emphasis on stock market/financial products. Remote nationwide work is supported.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the stock market/financial markets.
• Solid knowledge of core testing methodologies.
• Ability to write test documentation based on product specifications and requirements.
• Familiarity with mobile app testing on Android / iOS.
• Experience with API tools such as Postman, SoapUI, curl, or equivalents.
• Ability to use traffic sniffing / proxy tools for mobile apps (Proxyman, Fiddler, Charles, or similar).
• SQL skills – ability to write simple queries (MS SQL / MySQL / PostgreSQL).
• Understanding of WebSockets and how to test them.
• Ability to write automated tests for Web, API, and Mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing of web applications, mobile apps, and APIs.
• Create and maintain test documentation (test cases, bug reports, test plans).
• Identify, document, track defects, and perform retesting after fixes.
• Work closely with developers to resolve bugs and improve the product.
• Write automated tests and maintain existing test scripts.
• Take full ownership of specific projects within the team.
