About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing software solutions provider, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote Project Manager to oversee the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere within South Africa while contributing to innovative software projects. You will be responsible for guiding development teams from concept to deployment, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software products that meet client specifications and business objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end software development projects, from requirements gathering and planning to development, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
• Lead and coordinate software development teams, including developers, QA engineers, and UI/UX designers.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, track progress using agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and manage backlogs.
• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues proactively, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure clear and consistent communication among team members and stakeholders regarding project status, updates, and impediments.
• Manage project budgets and resource allocation efficiently.
• Uphold high standards for code quality, testing, and deployment processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the development process and team workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with at least 4 years specifically managing software development projects.
• Proven experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and various development methodologies, particularly Agile (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience managing distributed or remote teams.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, programming languages, and database technologies.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
• Proficiency in project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum Master certification is highly desirable.
