Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Process Safety Engineer to join a global Oil & Gas team. You will develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and the integrity of critical systems.

You will conduct PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA), lead audits, train staff, and drive continuous improvement for safety culture across international projects while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years in process safety engineering, Oil & Gas emphasis.
• Strong knowledge of PSM elements, risk assessment techniques.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Remote Process Safety Engineer to join their global operations team, supporting their vital Oil & Gas initiatives. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise in process safety management from anywhere. You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our client's facilities and operations by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust safety protocols and risk management systems. You'll collaborate with various engineering disciplines, operational teams, and management to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards, thereby safeguarding personnel, assets, and the environment. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and standards.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies, and ensure timely closure of action items.
• Oversee and audit safety-critical equipment and systems to ensure their integrity and reliability.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to operational and engineering staff.
• Investigate process safety incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international process safety regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering, specifically within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of PSM elements, PHA methodologies, and risk assessment techniques.
• Experience with safety management systems software and tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and autonomously in a remote work environment.
