Our client is seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Chemical Engineer specializing in Safety & Compliance to join their fully remote team. This pivotal role involves ensuring that all chemical processes and operations adhere to the highest safety standards and comply with national and international regulations, regardless of geographic location. You will work closely with site engineers, management, and regulatory bodies to develop, implement, and maintain robust safety management systems. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who excels in remote collaboration and possesses a deep understanding of chemical process safety and risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive chemical process safety management systems (PSM).


• Conduct thorough hazard identification and risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA) for existing and new processes.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international environmental and safety regulations .


• Develop and deliver safety training programs to site personnel and remote teams.


• Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.


• Stay abreast of emerging safety technologies and regulatory changes, recommending updates to company policies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.


• 10+ years of experience in chemical engineering with a strong focus on process safety and regulatory compliance.


• In-depth knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA PSM, EPA regulations, and international equivalents.


• Proven experience conducting HAZOP studies and other risk assessment methodologies.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, adapted for a remote environment.


• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.
