Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Principal Process Engineer to lead and optimize mineral processing plants globally from a fully remote team. You will guide design, optimization, troubleshooting, and technology integration to improve efficiency, recoveries, and cost performance.

Responsibilities include developing PFDs and P&IDs, running simulations with Metso Outotec HSC, JKSimFloat, and Aspen Plus, mentoring engineers, and managing capital projects from conception to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or closely related field.
• 15+ years of progressive mineral process engineering experience with focus on design and optimization.
• Experience with mineral processing unit operations (crushing, grinding, flotation, CIL, solvent extraction).
• Advanced process simulation and modeling software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual design and detailed engineering of mineral processing plants and circuits.
• Optimize existing plants to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling with industry tools.
• Troubleshoot complex operational issues and develop effective solutions.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor a global team of engineers.
• Collaborate with R&D to evaluate new technologies.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and project proposals.
• Ensure designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Manage process engineering aspects of capital projects from inception to commissioning.
