Placements24 is seeking an analytical Operations Research Analyst to join a remote team supporting operations based out of Bloemfontein. You will apply advanced analytical techniques, mathematical modeling, and optimization methods to improve decision-making and profitability.
The ideal candidate has a strong quantitative background and excels at solving real-world challenges while working remotely with stakeholders across functions.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
- Experience applying optimization, statistical modeling and simulation.
- Strong Python, R or MATLAB programming.
- Familiarity with optimization solvers like Gurobi or CPLEX.
- Excellent analytical and independent work in remote settings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement mathematical models and optimization algorithms for scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights.
- Design and conduct simulation studies to evaluate strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define problems and gather requirements.
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay current with advancements in OR, data science, and AI.
