Job summary

Placements24, a South Africa-based nonprofit focused on digital literacy, seeks a Remote Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of remote programs. This fully remote, permanent role requires strong project management, operational efficiency, and excellent coordination of dispersed teams to support digital inclusion initiatives across the country.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in operations/project management with remote team focus.
• Proven ability to manage complex remote projects and processes.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and leadership skills.
• Experience with budgeting and financial oversight.
• Proficiency with PM tools (Asana, Trello, Monday.com) and collaboration apps.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of daily remote operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop, implement, and refine operational processes and workflows for remote teams.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring timely completion.
• Coordinate communication and collaboration among remote staff, volunteers, and external partners.
• Monitor operational budgets, manage resource allocation, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Implement and maintain operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Utilize project management software and other tools to track progress and facilitate collaboration.
• Identify operational risks and challenges, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Support the onboarding and training of new remote team members.
• Generate regular operational reports for senior management, highlighting KPIs and areas for improvement.
