Job summary

WhatJobs Direct is seeking an experienced Remote AI/ML Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable ML infrastructure that powers advanced AI initiatives.

You will implement CI/CD pipelines, manage data and model versioning, automate MLOps workflows, and collaborate with a globally distributed team to deliver robust, secure, and cost-efficient platforms. This fully remote role includes a competitive salary and home-office stipend.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Proven experience building ML platforms or MLOps infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP) and services (e.g., SageMaker, Azure ML, Vertex AI).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of ML concepts and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable AI/ML infrastructure and platforms.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for ML models and applications.
• Implement and optimize tools for data management, model training, versioning, and deployment.
• Automate MLOps workflows to streamline the ML lifecycle.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand platform needs and provide solutions.
• Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
• Ensure security, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of the ML infrastructure.
• Stay current with emerging MLOps tools and best practices.
• Develop documentation and provide training on platform usage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ML platform issues.
