Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Cost Accountant to join their manufacturing operations team. This fully remote role in South Africa offers the opportunity to analyze production costs, develop cost models, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and efficiency.

You will be responsible for standard costing systems, cost reports, variance analyses, and budgeting support, with the flexibility of remote work and a focus on strategic cost management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and methodologies.
• Proficiency in Excel and cost accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for remote analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead.
• Develop and maintain standard costing systems and product costing models.
• Monitor inventory valuation and cost of goods sold.
• Prepare regular cost reports and variance analyses for management review.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to production costs.
