Placements24 is seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to provide essential financial insights into production costs and profitability. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere in South Africa, supporting pricing and operational decisions.

You will develop cost systems, analyze variances, and prepare cost reports while collaborating with production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional certification (CIMA, CMA) preferred.
• 3–5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in cost accounting software and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems and methodologies.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation.
• Prepare regular reports on product costs, profitability, and operational efficiencies.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support product costing for new product introductions and pricing strategies.
