Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote Logistics Data Analyst to optimize operations from anywhere in South Africa. You will collect, interpret, and report on complex logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, enabling cost-effective decisions for the supply chain.

The role requires 3–5 years of analytics experience, strong SQL/Python/R skills, and proficiency with Tableau or Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in logistics or supply chain.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or R.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain insights clearly.
• Ability to work independently on multiple remote projects.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large logistics datasets (transportation, warehousing, inventory).
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs (on‑time delivery, cost per mile, turnover).
• Identify trends and anomalies to uncover inefficiencies and cost savings.
• Collaborate with managers to understand data needs and provide actionable insights.
• Build predictive models to forecast demand, optimize routes, and improve performance.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and issue resolution.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout analysis.
