Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Litigation Attorney to join our fully remote legal team serving clients across South Africa from a base near Richards Bay. You will manage a complex civil docket from assessment through resolution, including court appearances and settlements, while working autonomously with advanced legal tech.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with at least 10 years of litigation experience.
• Experience handling complex civil litigation from inception to resolution.
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence rules, and courtroom advocacy.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Proficiency with legal research databases and case management software.
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload remotely.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of civil litigation cases, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive legal arguments and documents.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution forums.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, providing regular case updates.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies tailored to client needs.
• Supervise junior legal staff and paralegals remotely as needed.
