Placements24 seeks a proactive Legal Compliance Manager for a fully remote position serving Mossel Bay operations. You will develop policies, conduct audits, train staff, and lead compliance initiatives in a remote-first environment.

The role requires a law-based degree (LLB or equivalent) and 7+ years in compliance, with strong SA regulatory knowledge and risk management capabilities. Autonomy and integrity are essential.

Qualifications

• LLB or relevant degree in law, business, or related field.
• 7+ years in legal compliance or regulatory affairs, preferably remote operations.
• In-depth knowledge of South African corporate laws and industry-specific regulations.
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and risk management principles.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering compliance training programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures across the organization.
• Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure the company's timely adaptation.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters and ethical conduct.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external advisors as needed to ensure compliance readiness.
• Manage the company's whistleblowing hotline and related investigations.
