Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Lean Manufacturing Specialist to lead remote Lean initiatives across operations, driving continuous improvement in Mahikeng, North West. You will champion Lean principles, facilitate workshops, and train staff while collaborating with on-site teams to ensure buy-in and measurable results.

The role requires 5+ years of Lean experience, plus expertise in VSM, 5S, Kanban, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles in a production environment.
• Proven track record of successfully leading Kaizen events and other Lean initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing strategies and initiatives.
• Identify and eliminate waste (Muda) in all forms across production and support processes.
• Facilitate Lean workshops, including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen events, and root cause analysis.
• Develop and deliver training programs on Lean principles and tools to employees at all levels.
• Mentor and coach cross-functional teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Develop and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of Lean initiatives.
• Analyze production data and process flows to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support the implementation of standardized work and best practices.
• Collaborate with management and on-site teams to ensure alignment and buy-in for Lean projects.
