Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Sports Data Analyst to join our innovative team in a fully remote capacity. You will develop advanced models, process large sports datasets, and deliver actionable insights to coaches, management, and athletes.

The ideal candidate holds a Masters/PhD in a quantitative field, 5+ years in analytics (sports analytics preferred), and strong Python/R, SQL, and data-visualization skills to drive performance improvements.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in a quantitative field (stats, data science, CS, math).
5+ years of data analytics, with sports analytics focus.
Proficiency in Python or R and data manipulation libraries.
Strong SQL/database management knowledge.
Experience with Tableau or Power BI and dashboard design.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and refine advanced analytical models to track athlete performance, team strategy, and game outcomes.
Collect, clean, and process large volumes of sports data from various sources (e.g., performance metrics, video analysis, biometric data).
Translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights for stakeholders, including coaches and athletes.
Design and create dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators and trends.
Collaborate with coaching staff to integrate data insights into training programs and tactical planning.
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the data analytics function within the organization.

Requirements

Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
5+ years of experience in data analysis, with a significant portion focused on sports analytics.
Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries.
Strong knowledge of database management and SQL.
