Placements24 is seeking a Lead Software Architect to define the technical vision and architectural roadmap for complex software systems. You will guide development teams, set standards, and make critical technology decisions in a remote-first environment.

The role requires 10+ years in software development with at least 4 years in architecture, expertise across architectural patterns, and strong communication to align with business goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive software development experience, with at least 4 years in an architecture role.
• Deep understanding of architectural patterns (microservices, monolithic, event-driven) and trade-offs.
• Expertise in scalable, high-availability, fault-tolerant systems.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and strong grasp of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and document the overall software architecture for new and existing systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of critical software components and services.
• Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and platforms to meet project requirements.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, design principles, and best practices across development teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and quality.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering leadership to translate requirements into robust architectural solutions.
