Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Production Chemist with a strong focus on Quality Assurance for a dynamic chemical manufacturing setting. This role can be performed remotely for the right candidate, overseeing QA processes and driving improvements in production chemistry.

You will manage QC lab operations, validate methods, and mentor junior staff, ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance across collaborations with R&D and production teams.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical production, quality control, or quality assurance roles.
• Strong understanding of analytical chemistry techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, Titration, Spectroscopy).
• Proven experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to chemical processes and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality control procedures for chemical production processes.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the quality control laboratory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot production chemistry issues and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality.
• Conduct method validation and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Train and mentor junior chemists and laboratory technicians.
• Collaborate with R&D and production teams to ensure seamless product scale-up and transfer.
• Prepare quality control reports, Certificates of Analysis (CoA), and other documentation.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in chemical analysis and quality assurance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production and quality departments.
