Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Lead Process Engineer for a fully remote role with a global oil & gas client. You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot complex process systems across upstream and downstream operations.

You will lead PFDs, P&IDs, simulations, mass and energy balances, and mentor junior engineers. Strong communication and remote collaboration skills are essential to drive projects from anywhere.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of process engineering experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemicals, or chemical industries.
• Strong experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS and P&IDs/PFDs.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and remote collaboration skills.
• Experience with safety studies (HAZOP/LOPA) desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and review of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform process simulations and calculations, including mass and energy balances, to optimize plant operations.
• Design and troubleshoot process equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Develop technical specifications for process equipment and control systems.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and implement necessary safety measures.
• Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and project teams.
• Mentor and guide junior process engineers, fostering their technical and professional growth.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and best practices within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Collaborate effective with remote colleagues, ensuring seamless communication and project execution.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the Oil & Gas , petrochemical, or chemical industries.
• Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and proficiency with P&IDs and PFDs.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer principles.
• Demonstrated experience in leading process engineering projects and technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, suitable for remote working environment.
• Experience with safety studies (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA) is highly desirable.
