Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Pharmaceutical Formulations Specialist to spearhead drug formulation initiatives in a fully remote capacity. This senior position requires deep expertise across dosage forms and therapeutic areas, and a track record of launching products.

You will lead a team of formulation scientists, drive projects from concept to clinical development, ensure cGMP compliance, and collaborate with regulatory, analytical development, process chemistry, and QA teams to push programs

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Expertise in dosage forms (tablets, capsules, injectables, controlled-release).
• In-depth knowledge of cGMP, ICH guidelines, and drug product development processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimization of novel pharmaceutical formulations for oral, parenteral, and topical systems.
• Mentor and oversee a team of formulation scientists, providing technical direction.
• Develop and execute experimental plans for pre-formulation, stability testing, and scale-up activities.
• Ensure formulation activities comply with cGMP and regulatory guidelines (FDA, EMA, SAHPRA).
• Collaborate with analytical development, process chemistry, and regulatory affairs teams.
• Present research findings and project updates to senior management and cross-functional teams.
