Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to lead formulation development from pre-formulation to clinical trial material manufacturing. This remote position offers flexibility to work from anywhere and contribute to cutting-edge pharmaceutical research.

You will design and optimize dosage forms, including solids, liquids, and sterile products, applying DoE methods and ensuring GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Experience with multiple dosage forms including solids, liquids, and sterile products.
• Strong GMP and regulatory knowledge for drug development.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to lead formulation development activities. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere, contributing to cutting-edge pharmaceutical research. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing novel drug delivery systems and dosage forms, from pre-formulation studies through to clinical trial material manufacturing. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of physicochemical properties of drugs and excipients, as well as advanced formulation techniques. This role is critical in translating scientific discoveries into viable therapeutic products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation development of new drug candidates, including solid dosage forms, injectables, and topical preparations.
• Perform pre-formulation studies to characterize drug substances and select appropriate excipients.
• Develop and optimize formulation processes using DoE (Design of Experiments) principles.
• Scale-up formulation processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scales.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation for regulatory submissions and internal reports.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Expertise in various dosage forms, including oral solids, liquids, and sterile products.
• Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements for drug development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
