Placements24 is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to guide the design and development of next‑gen mechanical systems within a fully remote global team. This senior role involves mentoring engineers, setting technical direction, and driving innovative design initiatives from concept through production.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree in mechanical engineering, 10+ years of experience, and expert CAD/CAE skills (SolidWorks/CATIA/Siemens NX) with FEA/CFD expertise.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive mechanical design experience, with at least 3 in leadership.
• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
• Extensive experience with FEA and CFD.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• Strong materials science and DFM/DFA knowledge.
• Excellent remote leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with mechatronic systems is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of new products and systems from concept to production.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or lead engineer role.
• Expert proficiency in industry-leading CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX).
• Extensive experience with advanced simulation and analysis tools (FEA, CFD).
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for effective remote leadership.
• Strategic thinking and a passion for innovation in the renewable energy sector.
• Experience with mechatronic systems is a plus.
