Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Cosmetic Science Consultant to drive remote product development in Beauty & Wellness from South Africa. You will guide formulation, validate claims, and ensure regulatory compliance while mentoring junior scientists and influencing product strategy.

Require a Master's/PhD in a relevant field, 7+ years of cosmetic development experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. Remote work across SA is supported, with potential international opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in cosmetic product development and formulation.
• Proven track record of launching new beauty and personal care products.
• In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, toxicology, and regulatory affairs (e.g., SAHPRA).
• Exceptional leadership, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D of innovative cosmetic formulations from concept to market launch.
• Guide ingredient selection, stability testing, and efficacy studies.
• Oversee claims substantiation and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with marketing, product management, and manufacturing teams.
• Mentor and develop a team of cosmetic scientists and consultants.
• Stay current with global cosmetic regulations and trends.
