Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Lead Chemical Engineer for a globally recognized pharmaceutical manufacturer. The role drives innovation in process development and manufacturing of novel drug compounds and existing products, from any location.

You will lead design, scale-up, cGMP compliance, and cross-functional collaboration in a fully remote environment, mentoring junior engineers and delivering robust, cost-effective processes while ensuring regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in pharmaceutical process development, scale-up, manufacturing.
• 3+ years in lead or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP and ICH guidelines.
• QbD and PAT experience a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of innovative chemical processes for APIs and intermediates.
• Oversee scale‑up from lab to pilot and commercial manufacturing.
• Develop and validate manufacturing processes per cGMP and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct process characterization, risk assessments, and optimization studies.
• Manage cross‑functional teams in a remote setting.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Prepare and review batch records, validation reports, and regulatory sections.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement CAPAs.
• Foster continuous improvement across global manufacturing networks.
