Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Lead Blockchain Security Analyst to drive security strategy for a decentralized identity platform. This fully remote leadership role demands expertise in blockchain security, smart contract auditing, and risk management to protect digital assets and user data.

You will lead security audits, guide secure coding practices, and collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance teams to uphold the highest standards across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a major focus on blockchain security and smart contract auditing.
• Proven experience leading security analysis or operations for blockchain projects.
• Deep understanding of blockchain technologies, consensus mechanisms, and smart contract languages (e.g., Solidity, Rust).
• Expertise in static and dynamic analysis tools for smart contract security and penetration testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with cryptography, network security, and cloud security.
• Experience with incident response and forensics in a blockchain context.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with root-cause analysis ability.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, Certified Blockchain Security Professional) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a holistic blockchain security strategy, including threat modeling and risk assessment.
• Lead and conduct comprehensive security audits of smart contracts, blockchain protocols, and dApps.
• Identify, analyze, and report on security vulnerabilities with actionable remediation recommendations.
• Establish and maintain security monitoring and incident response protocols for blockchain infrastructure.
• Guide and mentor junior security analysts and development teams on secure coding practices and blockchain security principles.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement security best practices throughout the SDLC.
• Stay at the forefront of emerging blockchain security threats, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques.
• Develop and manage security policies, standards, and procedures relevant to blockchain operations.
• Oversee the security of cryptographic keys and digital assets.
• Represent the security team in cross-functional meetings and contribute to architectural reviews.
