Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Blockchain Security Analyst for a leading cybersecurity firm. This fully remote position focuses on threat intelligence, monitoring blockchain networks, and mitigating security threats in crypto ecosystems.

You will analyze on-chain data, investigate breaches, and develop security strategies, collaborating with a distributed team of experts to safeguard assets and drive security best practices across decentralized systems.

Qualifications

Proven experience in cybersecurity analysis, threat intelligence, or related security roles.
Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and the crypto/blockchain ecosystem.
Familiarity with blockchain explorers and on-chain analysis tools.
Experience in analyzing transaction data and identifying malicious patterns.
Knowledge of common smart contract vulnerabilities and attack vectors.
Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication for reports and collaboration.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
Bachelor's degree in CS/Cybersecurity/IT or equivalent experience.
Experience in Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA is not a requirement for this remote role.

Responsibilities

Monitor blockchain networks for suspicious transactions, potential exploits, and security incidents.
Analyze on-chain and off-chain data to identify threat patterns and actors.
Investigate security breaches and provide incident response reports.
Develop and refine threat intelligence methodologies for the blockchain space.
Track and analyze emerging vulnerabilities and attack vectors in smart contracts and dApps.
Collaborate with security analysts and engineering teams to develop mitigation strategies.
Contribute to the development of security tools and automation for threat detection.
Prepare threat intelligence reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
Stay abreast of the latest developments in blockchain technology, cryptography, and cybersecurity threats.
Educate internal teams and clients on blockchain security best practices.
