Placements24 is seeking a Lead BIM Architect for a fully remote position, ideally near Tembisa, Gauteng, but open to candidates across ZA. The role leads BIM strategy, models, standards, and team mentoring, collaborating with clients and engineers to deliver integrated digital solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Master's in Architecture, SACAP credentials, and 10+ years in architecture with a strong BIM track record, including Revit, Navisworks, and Solibri proficiency.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture; SACAP registration preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of architectural experience, with at least 5 years in advanced BIM implementation and management.
• In-depth knowledge of BIM software and data exchange standards (IFC).
• Proven leadership and remote collaboration capabilities.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive BIM strategies and workflows for architectural projects.
• Lead a team of BIM specialists and architects in creating and maintaining high-quality BIM models.
• Establish and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and best practices across the organization.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless BIM integration.
• Conduct training sessions and provide technical support to project teams on BIM software and processes.
• Evaluate and recommend new BIM technologies and software solutions to enhance productivity.
• Oversee the development of federated models and clash detection processes.
• Contribute to the architectural design process, leveraging BIM capabilities for improved visualization and analysis.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in digital construction and BIM.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Professional registration with SACAP.
• Minimum of 10 years of architectural experience, with at least 5 years focused on advanced BIM implementation and management.
• In-depth knowledge of BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, Solibri) and related technologies.
• Proven experience in developing and managing BIM execution plans (BEPs).
• Strong understanding of information management principles and data exchange standards (e.g., IFC).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, essential for a remote role.
• Ability to mentor and guide technical teams remotely.
• Experience with parametric design tools (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper) is a plus.
