Placements24 is seeking a visionary Remote Lead Backend Engineer to architect and scale backend services for innovative fintech products. You will mentor engineers, set technical standards, and drive best practices in backend development.

You will lead a remote team, champion asynchronous collaboration, and own critical technology decisions in a fast-growing environment with modern tech stacks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in backend development with leadership experience.
• Expertise in one or more backend languages: Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.
• Experience designing scalable microservices architectures.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms and containers (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of scalable backend services and APIs.
• Mentor and guide a team of backend engineers.
• Develop and maintain robust, efficient, and secure backend systems.
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend developers to define requirements.
• Implement best practices for code reviews, testing, and deployment.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and evaluate new technologies.
