Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Aviation Ground Operations Specialist to oversee and optimize all ground handling activities from a remote home office. You will develop SOPs, supervise remote teams, monitor flight schedules, and ensure safety compliance while driving efficiency and cost savings for a SA-based carrier.

The role requires a strong background in aviation operations, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and at least five years in ground operations with leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in aviation ground operations with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate remote teams effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and refine SOPs for all ground handling activities.
• Remotely supervise and coordinate ground handling agents and supervisors.
• Monitor flight schedules and operational performance to minimize delays.
• Ensure aviation safety and security regulations are followed during ground operations.
• Manage relationships with third-party ground handling service providers and monitor service quality.
• Analyze operational data to identify efficiency and cost-improvement opportunities.
