Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Junior Financial Analyst for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will assist in forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting, gaining hands-on exposure to modeling and analysis while supporting senior management with insights.

The ideal candidate has a Finance/Accounting/Economics degree and strong Excel skills, with excellent analytical and communication abilities suitable for a remote, high-performance finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
• Familiarity with forecasting techniques and budgeting processes.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Perform variance, trend and performance analyses.
• Build and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting.
• Support budgeting processes by collating data from multiple departments.
• Identify KPIs and business drivers from financial data.
• Create presentations for senior management with insights and recommendations.
• Evaluate new business opportunities and investment proposals.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and systems.
