Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Architectural Drafter for a fully remote internship based in the Soweto region. You will support the senior team by producing drawings, plans, and 3D models, while learning BIM workflows and design processes.

The role focuses on community-focused architectural projects, requires a National Diploma in Architectural Technology, and offers mentorship, hands-on drafting experience, and potential for future full-time employment.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Certificate in Architectural Technology or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit is a strong advantage.
• Foundational knowledge of drafting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and time management for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare architectural drawings, plans, elevations, and sections using CAD software under supervision.
• Develop 3D models and visualizations for design presentations.
• Support senior architects in preparing detailed construction documents and specifications.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, consistent, and adhere to drafting standards.
• Organize and maintain digital drawing files and project documentation.
• Conduct basic research on building materials and systems as required.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and design reviews.
• Learn and apply BIM software and workflows as directed by the team.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to drawing production and document control.
