Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel specializing in Intellectual Property to join its dynamic legal team. This remote-first role allows you to safeguard the company's IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, across global markets.

You will advise on IP strategy, prosecution, enforcement, and licensing, and provide training to internal teams. Admitted SA attorney with 7+ years in IP is required. Fully remote in SA.

Qualifications

• Admitted SA attorney with a strong focus on Intellectual Property Law.
• Minimum of 7 years of IP law experience including prosecution, enforcement and transactional work.
• Proven experience managing a diverse IP portfolio.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement IP strategies to protect the company's innovations and brand.
• Conduct IP clearance searches including patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Draft, file, and prosecute patent and trademark applications globally.
• Manage and enforce IP rights and respond to infringement issues.
• Advise on IP licensing, joint development agreements, and other IP-related transactions.
