Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Insurance Risk Analyst to strengthen our risk management framework in South Africa. Based in Mahikeng, North West, you will identify, assess and monitor risks across insurance operations, developing mitigation strategies and reporting to management.

The ideal candidate holds a quantitative bachelor's degree, has risk analysis experience within insurance, and is proficient in Excel, SQL and Python with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in risk analysis , preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) and risk modeling software.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential risks associated with insurance products, operations, and market conditions.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies and mitigation plans.
• Monitor key risk indicators and prepare regular reports on the risk profile for management.
• Analyze claims data and trends to identify emerging risks and patterns.
