Placements24 is seeking a remote Instructional Designer to craft engaging online learning experiences for a SA audience. The role emphasizes adult learning principles, multimedia development, and collaboration with SMEs, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality content.

You will design courses using Storyline/ Captivate, create storyboards and assets, and ensure accessibility and brand alignment while managing multiple projects in a virtual environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years of instructional design experience with e-learning portfolios.
• Proficiency with Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging and interactive e-learning courses, modules, and training materials using various authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
• Analyze learning needs and collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to define learning objectives and content requirements.
• Create storyboards, scripts, and multimedia assets (graphics, audio, video) to support instructional content.
• Apply adult learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create effective learning solutions.
• Develop assessments, quizzes, and evaluation strategies to measure learning effectiveness.
• Ensure all learning content is accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with brand and style guidelines.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables, communicating progress and challenges proactively to the project team.
• Review and revise existing learning materials to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
• Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in instructional design and e-learning technologies.
• Provide technical support and guidance on learning management system (LMS) functionalities related to course deployment and tracking.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in instructional design, with a strong portfolio showcasing e-learning courses and multimedia development.
• Proficiency in industry-standard e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
• Solid understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning theories.
• Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and video editing software is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is required.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams and subject matter experts.
