Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Virtual Installation & Maintenance Specialist to join our remote operations team. You will diagnose complex issues, guide users through maintenance, and implement solutions entirely through virtual channels.

This role is ideal for those in the Cape Town area or elsewhere, with strong remote problem-solving skills, ITIL familiarity, and a passion for high-quality customer support in a distributed workforce.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in technical support, installation, or maintenance roles.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems across hardware and software.
Excellent remote communication skills including video conferencing, screen sharing, and chat support.
Familiarity with ITIL best practices and service management tools.

Responsibilities

Perform in-depth remote analysis and troubleshooting for installation and maintenance challenges reported by clients.
Provide expert technical guidance and step-by-step support for system installations and upkeep via virtual communication channels.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all support interactions, including problem descriptions, actions taken, and final resolutions.
Proactively monitor client systems to detect and address potential maintenance issues before they escalate.
Collaborate closely with on-site technicians and customer success managers to ensure a unified approach to client satisfaction.
Contribute to the knowledge base by creating and updating technical documentation and troubleshooting guides for remote use.
