Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Information Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure for a remote-first organization. The role focuses on protecting digital assets across distributed teams and time zones.

You will automate security processes, perform assessments and incident response, and collaborate with development and operations to embed security into the SDLC, all while maintaining robust documentation and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Cybersecurity or related field.
• 4+ years in information security engineering or similar role.
• Strong network security fundamentals and hands-on tooling experience.
• Experience with cloud security and security monitoring/incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security solutions (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection).
• Develop and automate security workflows using scripting languages.
• Conduct regular security assessments, pentesting, and vulnerability management.
• Monitor security systems and respond to threats with timely analysis.
• Collaborate with development and operations to embed security in the SDLC.
• Manage security infrastructure for availability, integrity and confidentiality.
• Create and maintain security documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Respond to incidents, perform forensic analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations for incident response.
