Placements24 seeks an experienced Industrial Engineering Specialist to drive digital transformation for manufacturing operations on a fully remote basis within South Africa. You will analyze IoT data, develop digital twins, and collaborate with global teams to implement data-driven improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of industrial engineering experience with a focus on digital transformation, automation, and Industry 4.0.
• Proven IoT, data analytics, MES experience; proficient in Python and SQL; familiar with Power BI/Tableau.
• Knowledge of industrial networks, SCADA, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of digital solutions for manufacturing processes (predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, automated quality control).
• Analyze IoT and MES data to derive actionable insights for process optimization.
• Develop digital twins and simulation models to validate changes and integrations.
• Collaborate with IT and software teams to integrate OT and IT systems.
• Champion adoption of new digital tools across remote and on-site teams.
• Create training materials and conduct virtual sessions on digital manufacturing tools.
• Stay updated on Industry 4.0 tech and assess applicability to manufacturing operations.
• Contribute to long-term digital strategy for manufacturing operations.
• Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of industrial automation systems.
