The successful candidate will work independently and with cross-functional teams, delivering from concept through to production while adhering to brand guidelines and optimizing for cost and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or related field.
• 5+ years of industrial design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino).
• Experience with rendering tools (Keyshot, V-Ray) and Adobe CS.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop industrial product designs from sketches to 3D models.
• Create technical drawings, renderings, and prototypes to communicate design intent.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs for manufacturability.
• Ensure designs meet functional, ergonomic, aesthetic, and manufacturing criteria.

About the Role

Our client, an innovative leader in industrial product development, is seeking a talented Remote Industrial Design Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This position is fully remote, offering a unique opportunity for creative engineers to contribute to the design and conceptualization of cutting-edge industrial products and systems. The role involves translating user needs and technical requirements into functional, aesthetically pleasing, and manufacturable designs. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of industrial products through innovative design thinking and a deep understanding of materials, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop innovative industrial product designs, from initial sketches to detailed 3D models.
• Create detailed technical drawings, renderings, and prototypes to communicate design intent.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, R&D, and marketing, to refine designs.
• Ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, ergonomic, and manufacturing requirements.
• Conduct research on materials, manufacturing processes, and emerging design trends.
• Apply principles of industrial design, including form, function, user experience, and sustainability.
• Prepare design presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
• Contribute to the product development lifecycle from concept through to production.
• Adhere to brand guidelines and design standards.
• Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and ease of assembly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of industrial product designs.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino).
• Experience with rendering software (e.g., Keyshot, V-Ray) and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC machining, etc.), and prototyping techniques.
• Excellent sketching, visualization, and communication skills.
• Ability to conceptualize and solve design problems creatively and effectively.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment and manage projects independently.
• Knowledge of ergonomics and user-centered design principles.
• A keen eye for detail, aesthetics, and form.
