About the Role Our client is looking for an experienced and visionary Lead Industrial Design Engineer to spearhead their product development initiatives. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your creative and technical expertise from anywhere. You will lead the design and conceptualization of innovative new products, from initial ideation through to detailed design and prototyping. This role requires a blend of artistic flair, strong engineering acumen, and the ability to translate user needs and market trends into compelling, manufacturable designs. You will guide a team of designers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the industrial design process for new product development, from concept generation to final design specifications.
• Develop innovative and user-centric product concepts, creating sketches, renderings, and 3D models.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, and product management teams to ensure designs meet technical feasibility, cost targets, and market requirements.
• Create detailed design documentation, including CAD files, technical drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Oversee prototyping and testing phases, iterating on designs based on feedback and performance data.
• Mentor and guide junior industrial designers and engineers, providing technical expertise and design direction.
• Stay informed about consumer trends, material advancements, and manufacturing processes to drive design innovation.
• Present design concepts and project updates to senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure design consistency with brand guidelines and product portfolio strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product launches.
• Expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360) and rendering tools.
• Proven ability to lead design projects and mentor design teams.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and user experience (UX) best practices.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining, 3D printing).
• Excellent visualization, sketching, and presentation skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in remote teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
