Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer for a fully remote role serving diverse manufacturing clients worldwide. You will design, implement, and support automated systems including PLC, HMI, SCADA, and robotics, with remote collaboration across stakeholders and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Proven experience programming PLC platforms (Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000).
• Strong understanding of Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software such as WinCC and FactoryTalk View.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and commission automation systems using PLC, HMI, SCADA, and robotics.
• Create electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell), VFDs, and servo drives.
• Develop HMIs and SCADA interfaces for monitoring and control.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for installed systems.
• Conduct remote system testing and commissioning for performance and safety.
• Keep up with advancements in automation technology and best practices.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and user manuals.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of automation strategies and standards.
