Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Health and Safety Coordinator to champion safety initiatives across operations from a home base. You will develop programs, conduct risk assessments, and promote a safety culture while supporting teams in Soweto and beyond.

Ideal candidates hold recognized H&S certifications, have remote oversight experience, and can manage multiple tasks with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OHSAS).
• Proven experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably with remote oversight.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and identify potential hazards in various work environments.
• Organize and deliver health and safety training programs to employees and management.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, and incident reports.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
