Placements24 is seeking a vigilant and knowledgeable Remote Health and Safety Officer to champion safety across construction projects nationwide. Working entirely from a remote location, you will develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive health and safety programs.

This role requires proactive risk assessment, incident investigation, and ensuring compliance with South African health and safety legislation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in construction.
• In-depth knowledge of South Africa health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills; adept at remote work.
• NEBOSH or SAMTRAC or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust health and safety policies and procedures for all construction sites, adapted for remote oversight.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and safety audits, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and implement preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety legislation and industry standards across all project locations.
• Develop and deliver engaging health and safety training materials for site personnel, utilizing online platforms.
