Placements24 is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in South Africa's logistics and supply chain sector. This remote role allows you to operate from anywhere in the country while developing strategic partnerships and closing high-value deals.

You will identify opportunities, manage a robust pipeline, and collaborate with operations, technology, and sales teams to deliver exceptional client value.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding.
• Proven track record of identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities and partnerships.
• In-depth knowledge of supply chain management, transportation, warehousing, and international trade.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior executives in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to penetrate and grow market share in the logistics and supply chain sector.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and direct outreach.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and potential clients across industries.
• Present and articulate the value proposition of our client's logistics and supply chain solutions.
• Negotiate and close complex service agreements and strategic partnerships.
• Collaborate with internal operations, technology, and sales teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to generate leads and brand visibility.
• Analyze market dynamics and competitive intelligence to inform strategies.
• Manage and maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
