Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Development Grants Specialist for a prominent international NGO focused on sustainable development. The role is fully remote within South Africa and emphasizes grant writing, donor relations, and proposal development to secure funding for impactful programs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in grant writing for non-profits, a strong track record with major funders, and excellent writing/editing capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of grant writing and fundraising experience for non-profits, including international development.
• Proven track record of securing grants from major foundations and government sources.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities in English.
• Strong research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with grant management software/databases and remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Identify and research grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies and CSR programs worldwide.
• Develop compelling grant proposals and supporting documents for donor requirements.
• Manage the grant lifecycle: prospecting, applications, awards, and reporting.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors and grant-making institutions.
• Collaborate with program teams to reflect project goals and budgets in proposals.
• Monitor compliance and timely submission of reports and financials.
• Stay current on philanthropy trends and international development.
