Qualifications

• Master's degree in International Development, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program design, proposal writing, and fundraising for international development projects.
• Demonstrated success in securing grants from major international donors (e.g., USAID, DFID, EU).
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
• Experience working in a remote or international team environment.
• Deep understanding of development challenges in various global contexts, with specific awareness of African development issues.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and feasibility studies to identify opportunities for new programs and projects.
• Design comprehensive program strategies and detailed project proposals aligned with donor requirements and organizational goals.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential funding partners, including foundations, government agencies, and corporate social responsibility departments.
• Write persuasive and high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, and project budgets.
• Collaborate with in-country teams and subject matter experts to ensure program designs are contextually appropriate and technically sound.
• Monitor the development and implementation of new projects, providing guidance and support.
• Stay current with global development trends, best practices, and funding landscapes.
• Prepare reports and presentations on program development activities and outcomes.
• Contribute to the organization's overall strategic planning and resource mobilization efforts.
