Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa seeks a skilled Remote Grant Writing Specialist for a rural development NGO focused on the Eastern Cape. You will research, identify, and secure funding from foundations, corporations, government bodies, and other sources to support diverse programs and impact.

You will work with program staff to craft persuasive proposals, ensure funder-aligned content, and meet deadlines, enabling sustainability and growth of vital community initiatives in the region.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of grant writing experience in nonprofits, preferably rural upliftment.
• Proven success in securing grant funding from diverse sources.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify grant funding sources from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
• Develop compelling grant proposals, including LOIs, full proposals, and supporting documents.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather data and ensure accurate project information.
• Ensure timely submission of grant applications and compliance with funder requirements.
• Maintain a database of opportunities, submissions, and awards.
• Support in narrative and financial reporting for funders.
