Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field (Data Science, CS, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics).
• Strong programming skills in Python or R and libraries for data manipulation, analysis, and ML (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, ML algorithms, and experimental design.
• Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with big data tech (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting and be legally authorized to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from diverse sources.
• Perform statistical analysis and develop ML models to address business challenges.
• Design and run experiments to test hypotheses and validate model performance.
• Develop algorithms and build predictive models for forecasting, classification, and clustering.
• Visualize and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deploy data science solutions.
• Keep up-to-date with latest advancements in data science, ML, and AI.
• Contribute to robust data pipelines and analytical frameworks.
• Ensure ethical and responsible use of data and AI technologies.
