Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote GIS Specialist to lead geospatial data management and analysis for global mineral exploration initiatives. The role focuses on building geodatabases, creating maps, and integrating diverse datasets from geological maps to satellite imagery, all within a fully remote team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in GIS, strong ArcGIS and/or QGIS expertise, and experience with Python scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Earth Sciences, or related field with a strong GIS focus.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of professional GIS experience in mineral exploration or natural resources.
• Advanced proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS suite and/or QGIS.
• Strong skills in spatial analysis, geodatabase management, and cartographic design.
• Experience scripting GIS tasks (e.g., Python with ArcPy) is desirable.
• Familiarity with remote sensing and image processing.

Requirements
