Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to lead remote, multinational geotechnical investigations, analyses and design for major projects. The role emphasizes independent leadership, mentoring, and delivering high-quality technical outputs from a fully remote team.

The position requires a Master’s/PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, PE/CEng or international equivalent, and 10+ years of progressive experience, with proficiency in PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and FLAC.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering.
• PE or CEng status, or international equivalent.
• 10+ years progressive geotechnical experience, leading complex projects.
• Proficiency with PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and FLAC.
• Experience managing remote/international projects.
• Strong leadership and mentoring ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and interpretation of geotechnical investigations remotely.
• Perform advanced analyses: foundation design (shallow and deep), slope stability, seismic hazard.
• Develop comprehensive geotechnical reports, design recommendations, and mitigation strategies.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to a team of geotechnical engineers and technicians.
• Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and client communications remotely.
• Ensure compliance with international geotechnical codes and standards (e.g., Eurocode 7).
• Review and approve geotechnical designs, calculations, and reports.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other disciplines to integrate geotechnical solutions.
• Stay updated on latest software, equipment, and methodologies.
• Contribute to business development and proposals.
